Macadamias

Today we've been learning all about Australia's very own macadamias at Macadamias Australia in Bundaberg!

These ones are a while off harvest, but when they are ready they will then be dehusked, dried, and then cracked, leaving the delicious macadamia. Despite being a softer nut to eat, macadamias are the hardest nut to crack!

Ever noticed that sometimes you buy a pineapple without a top (crown), and other times it has one? That's because pineapple growers use the crowns to plant their next crop!

And no, pineapples don't grow on the beach!
