Each year students from Moruya High School embark on a camping trip as part of their Agricultural and Earth & Environment studies to explore the Murray Darling Basin first hand. We help facilitate the first two full days of their trip. This is their fourth year visiting.
We look at irrigation from dam to on-farm with the students staying at Hume Dam before meeting us at Yarrawonga Weir. We visit a local dairy farm, lucerne farm, and piggery. This year we lined up a visit with research scientists from the National Oat Breeding Program. And each year students take part in a Kingfisher Cruise through the Barmah Choke. It's a great couple of days - and a highlight of our year!
